A Party for Me and You

It has been quite a while since I last threw a party and it was more like a get together with
friends than a real party. Now, with my birthday coming up I want to throw a real party with all the party
supplies that I want. To help me prepare with my upcoming birthday party, I have consulted with one
of my friends who happens to be a party organizer and the advice she gave me was simply marvelous,
she said that If I want a real party, I need to think of a theme or a concept where I can match the party
supplies that I want. Once I have decided on the theme or concept then the rest will follow. She also
gave me a list on what to prepare whenever I will throw a themed party or a party with a concept. This
list will be helpful if you also want to throw a party so I will share this with you.

In the list, the first thing to decide upon is the theme or concept of your party, your party
supplies such as decorations, foods and party favors will center around the concept or theme that
you have chosen. Some examples of theme parties are: Luau Party, Western Party, Backyard Fun
party, Hollywood Party, Casino Night Party, Nautical Party, Princess Party, Mardi Gras Party, Floral
Party and many, many more. After you were able to choose a theme or concept, the next thing that
you should do is to decide on the venue, food, decorations, party favors and other <a rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/outgoing/article_exit_link']);” href=”http://<br />www.prettypartyplace.com/”><b>party supplies</b></a> that you will need or want for your party.
For the venue, as much as possible it should be relevant to your theme, if you choose to have a <a
rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/outgoing/article_exit_link']);” href=”http://www.prettypartyplace.com/luau-party-supply.html”><b>Luau Party</b></a> then a party
by the beach or by the pool side would be most appropriate, if you want to have a floral party then a
party by the garden would be best. Your venue will serve as the most important decoration of your
party and the rest of the party supplies will just enhance the venue that you have chosen. As for the
decorations, it should be related to your concept and venue. You can go all out if you want to since
this is your party, for a flora party a floral centerpiece for every table will look magnificent. However,
if you want a more personalized party you will need an ample amount of time to prepare the party
supplies needed for your party. Especially if you decided to have a personalized party supplies favors or
giveaways. Once you have finalized and implemented your plan, all you have to do is sit back or rather
dance the night away and enjoy yourself since the main thing about parties is to fully have fun and enjoy
yourself.

With this guide and list in my hand, I will surely throw a very fabulous party that I will enjoy;
now I am off to shop for some party supplies for my party.

If you need help on preparing for <a rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/outgoing/article_exit_link']);” href=”http://www.prettypartyplace.com/”><b>birthday
party themes</b></a> or searching needing <a rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/outgoing/article_exit_link']);” href=”http://www.prettypartyplace.com/”><b>birthday
party supplies</b></a> visit us at http://www.prettypartyplace.com/ now.

Astronomy for 4-10 Yrs Kids

There is nothing like sitting outside in the dark with your kids and staring up at the night sky. Time stands still as you both ponder the enormity of the universe and your place within it. Poetry springs to mind as you try to explain to your child how people 100 years ago didn’t have television and 500 years ago could really imagine a “man in the moon.” Talking about the constellations brings more talk about ancient people seeing stories in stars and constructing their world-view out of the few reproducible phenomena in their lives. Even a three-year-old can fall under the spell of the heavens. Every child should be able to look into the sky, understand that our earth revolves at a speed of some 800 miles and hour, and see the stars for what they are: dying suns millions of light years away. Better yet though, is for a child (or adult) to be able to recognize the constellations and the planets. That’s a basic skill like knowing how to juggle, play the harmonica or how to score a baseball game. None are necessary for survival in the world, but are part of a basic set of skills that make life fuller, more nuanced, and more interesting.

However, if you’re like me, this is not information you ever learned in school. Amateur astronomy, the inspirational kind for non-astrophysicists, is not taught in school. It’s like the non-existent course on “how to invest in the stock market” that would have saved you a bundle if only they had had a course like that in college. Luckily, like a lot of things on the big list of “Things I wish I had learned in school,” there are ways to fill in the gap of your knowledge and that of your children.

First, obviously, is a trip to local museum and planetarium. Not surprisingly, I have not done that with my kids. Instead, I jumped for accessible tools we could look at home and take with us on trips anywhere I think there will be a big black sky we can peer into together. By all means, go to the local planetarium. Better yet, if there is an observatory, check that out on a clear, warm summer night.

However, if you have little kids who would not sit through a planetarium show or stay up late enough to take the Observatory route, here are a few other ideas:

1.	Buy or use a good set of binoculars to look at the moon. A telescope at the early stage is overkill and kids have trouble delaying gratification while you set it up. A good pair of binoculars , perhaps small enough to travel with you easily, can bring the moon in close enough to stimulate great conversation on stars, planets, moons, and space travel. I have a pair of small Nikon Travelite binoculars with 9×25 resolutions. Prices are below 0 for what used to be a luxury item. They are small enough to carry easily in a jacket pocket and I take them with us on all family trips, for moon-watching, but also because the kids love to look at everything: birds, animals, neighbors, with them. And, as I always say, “it’s for the kids,” is always a good gambit to satisfy your middle-age desire for that pinball machine, slot-car set, or model train you’ve wanted since you were nine years old.

2.	Try an in-house planetarium. Don’t laugh. Especially if you are miles away from a science museum, or have young kids like I do, this might be a good option to familiarize the kids with concept of the solar system. At .95, don’t expect the Star Theater 2 to serve up popcorn for the show, but the price is right for the semi-sophisticated tool that it is. The Star Theatre is a clear globe with the stars and constellations printed on it. Inside is a halogen bulb, and when you turn it on, you get a projection on the walls and ceiling of the night sky. So, okay, with the lights illuminating everything that “isn’t” a star, the idea is a little upside-down, but the kids get the idea. A CD comes with the set, and in dulcet tones, the narrators explain the heavens. I found the CD narration to be both basic and interesting at the same time – clear enough for my six-year-old, but clearly a snore for my two-year-old. The globe itself, can be taken outside, and with its glow-in-the-dark printing, can be used as a star map (read on for other tools for this). Additionally, the Theatre comes with a “meteor-maker” the kids can play with to project asteroids on the ceiling while you fight for control so that you can show them the Big Dipper. I can’t imagine using this device thousands of times, but my daughter is still enthralled with the idea of stars and planets on the walls and regularly begs for a star show.

3.	A basic tool is a Constellation map for finding stars in the night sky. I recommend the Star Finder . There are plenty to choose from on Amazon. We have something similar to the Orion Planisphere . It’s very simple and easy to use. At .99 though, try the Glow-In-The-Dark Star Finder and let me know what you think. At this price, you can’t go wrong. As the Amazon review says: “When you’re out under the summer sky attempting to discern Leo on the western horizon, less is more. Try to juggle an astronomy tome and a flashlight and you’ll end up with more mosquito bites than star sightings. A star dial is what’s needed, a lightweight paper contraption that can be manipulated to show the sky as you see it, whatever the month and time of night. Accurate for the middle latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere, there is also a chart showing where to expect Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn, month by month, through the year 2000. The stars are rated by magnitude; there’s a zodiac dial identifying each zodiac constellation, showing how it appears in the sky; and most helpful of all, the stars are coated with a luminous treatment that causes them to glow in the dark, so you can see what you’re looking for without ruining your night vision with bright lights. It’s a superbly simple yet elegantly constructed stargazer aid.”

These star maps are simple cardboard items, about the size of a magazine and as thick as a few pieces of cardboard. The non-glow-in-the-dark ones require that you put a piece of red plastic over your flashlight for reading them in the dark, or your eyes will never be able to go back and forth from the map and the sky.

If your budget allows, take a look at the Celestron SkyScout Personal Planetarium . I have not seen this gadget perform, but it sounds magical.

Another take on the same theme is the stellar scope , which allows you to look up through a telescope-style device to see the stars as they would appear in the sky. At close to , it’s more expensive and bulky, and probably over-kills for most.

4.	Attach glow in the dark stars to your ceiling . This is a very low-cost idea that adds a magical element to both your child’s bedroom and to bedtime. The stars are barely visible on a white ceiling but are very bright after lights out. It’s easy to put up the simplest constellations (think Big and Little Dipper) and the stars are easy to remove from painted surfaces.

5.	And lastly, take a look at telescopes at some point. Not having any real experience (yet!) on this, I can only suggest taking a look at the selections below. Both National Geographic and the Discovery Store have good selections and provide good instruction materials for most science projects. Shop for Telescopes & Science Tools at National Geographic!

Proper Evening Wedding Etiquette

Weddings were almost always held during daytime in the past. But like evolution, the customs and norms on weddings have also evolved over time.

Most couples nowadays find evening weddings more romantic and ideal. Evening weddings have increased popularity over time.

People see weddings, especially receptions as a perfect time to mingle with old and new friends and generally socialize. However, only few know that several wedding etiquettes do exist for evening weddings.

As for almost any issue hounding etiquettes on weddings, you will be surprised how evening wedding etiquettes mainly revolve around the most basic issue and concern on weddings— attires.

For the bride and the groom, it is surprising that not much is expected during evening weddings. Evening weddings, according to several etiquette books and guides, should be treated as if they were daytime wedding. But take note, the case only applies to brides and grooms.

Being a nice and good guest, you are expected to follow several practical and unwritten guidelines. You would not want to create a bad impression to people, don’t you?

To illustrate the most common dilemma encountered by guests, who really try hard to be good guests, read on for a sample situation that you may have encountered in the past.

An evening wedding situation

Annie was invited to the wedding of a high school friend. The event poses a lot of excitement to her because she sees it as an opportunity to touch base and catch up with old high school friends.

Thus, Annie wants to make sure she will create a good and fashionable impression on that night. She wants to show everyone how she has improved and gotten prettier and foxier over the years.

However, one concerning factor about the wedding was that it is an evening wedding. Annie has attended just a couple of evening weddings before, and those were informal events, unlike this forthcoming one.

The invitation sent to her clearly and boldly emphasized that the guests are expected to come in formal attire. Ahh, Annie thought. That would be to her advantage. She will more exuberate radiance through a beautifully made gown.

The wedding night of her friend turned out to be disaster for Annie. Why? Because with her utmost desire to ‘dress to impress,’ she found that she over did it.

Annie wear a very beautiful and radiant fire-engine red gown. The dress accentuated her figure, and no wonder, she was really beautiful.

If she was beautiful on her gown, what went wrong? What happened in the evening wedding that made Annie want to run out instantly from the event?

Apparently, Annie unintentionally stole the bride’s wedding thunder. Since she came in flaming red and beautiful gown, all eyes were on her during the wedding. Some people, to her dismay, also came to congratulate her, mistakenly identifying her as the bride.

It can never be flattering. Not all eyes were smiling to Annie. The bride’s eyes were flaming red, with anger! All the bride’s maids, and almost all the ladies in the ceremony showed those disgusted and unwanting looks to Annie. She thought, she should never have attended that evening wedding.

Dress for the occasion

Evening wedding invitations that bear the phrase “black tie optional,” indicates that the evening wedding is meant to be a formal gathering and the hosts intend the guests to appear formal.

Men are expected to appear in their tuxedos and women in their evening ball gowns.

For the burden of the ladies, they should first find out about the wedding colors and motifs before showing up at the wedding. Otherwise, they, for sure, would not want to catch hot and daunting eyes during the entire ceremony until the reception.

For the ladies, remember not over do it. Do not steal the thunder from the bride. Do not out do the bride’s maids, the maid of honors and the bride’s mom as well.

Dress down. Find a suitable color and design of the gown that can attract attention, but not too much to the extent that all eyes are totally fixed on you. Remember, it should be the bride who should stand out on her much-awaited moment.

Some Books About Wedding Etiquette

In every part of the world, ladies dream of weddings. More often than not, they succeed in getting one. Thus, for every nation or country, in every culture, there are weddings.

Weddings have become inevitable events in modern society. But, it is clear and apparent that weddings have become, in a sense, a way of lifestyle. It can be attributed to the Western influence.

Wedding traditions, be it for Americans, Asians, Europeans, Africans or any race, have become universalized. When you say universalized, it means the event has adhered to same customs and traditions.

Thus, we have wedding etiquettes. Wedding etiquettes can vary from one country to another. But the variations are only slight and minimal. Moreover, the ethics and etiquettes in weddings are all but the same.

Because being into weddings or attending weddings have become a way of our modern life, people can get anxiety knowing that there are certain gestures that can be considered not likely during weddings.

If you are a bride or a groom, the anxiety can get really concerning. The couple will have to undergo a hard time—on wedding jitters and on anxiety from wedding customs.

Thus, the best way to help the soon-to-be-wed couple is to educate them about certain wedding etiquettes.

Because learning venues for wedding etiquettes can get so distracting, awkward and embarrassing at the same time, it is advisable that those needing briefings for wedding etiquettes consult the book stands.

The following are several of the highly recommended readings or books for or about wedding etiquettes. To get to know the books better, or to absorb what they have to say, get to the nearest book store or go to your favorite online shopping site to place an order.

Some recommended wedding etiquette books

“The Everything Etiquette Book: A Modern-Day Guide to Good Manners” by Leah Ingram. The author, Leah Ingram is considered as one of society’s etiquette experts. Actually, the book is not exclusive to wedding etiquettes.

The book tackles etiquettes for everyday living. Included in the topics covered are how to deal with annoying neighbors, how to choose and send the perfect gift for every occasion, professionalism at work, camaraderie with colleagues and friends, dealing with unlikely relatives and so on.

Because the book covers everything etiquette, of course, a few pages are allotted to weddings. The wedding etiquettes mentioned in the book are glimpses and shortened or simplified, but they still are effective tips.

“Crane’s Wedding Blue Book” by Steven L. Feinberg. Mr Steven Feinberg’s wedding book is very detailed and covers everything about wedding etiquettes.

The issues tackled start from the preparation—from short listing the guest list, doing the invitation, hiring wedding planners, and so on. The wedding etiquettes covered by the book extend to until after the honeymoon, when the couple should have finished giving out thank you cards to their wedding guests.

The book also gives tips and guidelines on what kind and color of paper to use when printing out invites and than you notes. It also deals with the proper way of handling unlikely, and yes, even wedding crashers.

“The Everything Wedding Etiquette Book: Insights and Advice on Handling Even the Stickiest Wedding Issues” by Emily Ehrenstein and Laura Morin. The book gives out little and practical do’s and don’ts during weddings.

The book takes the issues from the different perspectives of that of the bride, the groom, the parents, the maid of honor, the bride’s maids, the groom’s men, stepmothers, down to the guests.

The book boasts of practical solution to every concern and awkward situations that occur during weddings. The situations discussed can sometimes get cute, amusing and funny, but you can tell that they are timely and truthful. Several sticky situations, for sure, have happened to you.

Everyone who has attended weddings or who are planning to attend or get into one can relate to the book.

The book even gives out solutions and advice on how to handle difficult situations during weddings that include how to ask parents-in-law for financial assistance to cover the reception, including step parents in the ceremony, allowing single guests to tag along dates down to planning seat arrangements for divorced parents and more.

The above mentioned wedding etiquette books can be found at our favorite book stand or can be ordered online. Just read the books by heart so you can get to absorb wedding etiquettes and save your face when situations get really sticky during weddings.

Discover how to plan the perfect party in 7 days (or less), without spending a fortune

Hi If you want to plan parties or want to start a party planning service, you need to know that you’ll have only one chance at satisfying friends or a client you may never serve again, but that client could be responsible for getting you more customers. The long-term success of your business will ultimately depend on word-of-mouth recommendations. Organize one very successful office party, a casino night party, your nephew’s sweet 16 or even a Cinco De Mayo and you could find yourself deluged with calls from parents of twelve-year-old boys who heard you were responsible for that terrific party you threw for your nephew everyone loved so much. You need to have good organization skills, imagination and an ability to understand your client’s desires and foresee things, both stated and unstated. Word of mouth is your most selling tool in the beginning if you are testing the waters but you can make a career out of it if you have the desire and start advertising yourself in classifieds, social media so your friends and future friends know what you are about. You should also establish contacts with catering houses, musical groups and specialists in young children’s entertainment, like freelance magicians and clowns because you may never know when you are going to need them as people can stretch you with last minute parties and so forth.

Being friendly and informal with your clients make them comfortable and can depend on you to pull out a good show but be sure to get a list of facts you will need to make intelligent proposals. It is good to find out the kind of people who will be attending the specific party you are planning, how many will be attending, the theme where the party will be held, and most important, how much money per guest your client wants to spend.

Your responsibilities as the planner includes; hiring the caterer and entertainers, making sure they provide everything you need, and you will probably have to attend the party to make sure everything runs smoothly, it is a FACT. If you enjoy entertaining, this business can be as much fun as it is lucrative. The possibilities for creating exciting parties are practically unlimited. For children’s birthdays you can organize excursions to amusement parks, skating rinks, swimming pools and the like. For adults, whether it is a Girls Sip and Shop night out, baby shower or are planning a mexican party or ChanuEnjoyka, you will find this guide very useful as it is full of tips on how to throw a bangger of a party or a small get-together without spending a fortune. Below is the signature address of where you can find the book, I found it useful and so will you Enjoy!!!!

How to Start a Gift Basket Business from Home On a Shoestring Budget

Opening a gift basket business in your home can be one of the easiest ways to enjoy doing something you love, while making a nice profit for yourself. According to a recent government study, the home gift basket business is growing by leaps and bounds. If you have a creative mind, and like the idea of selecting unique items for gift baskets that make people happy, then this is a great business idea for you.

Learning how to start a gift basket business begins with coming up with cool ideas for creating gift baskets at home. To make this task easier for you, remember that most gift baskets have a theme like:

*Anniversary

*Baby Shower

*Birthday

*Christmas

*Easter

*Get Well

*Mother’s Day

*Retirement

*Thank You

*Valentines Day

*Wedding

When you start out with a theme, this makes it very easy for you to begin finding items that can go inside the basket. Keep in mind that you can buy the same items for each basket that shares the same theme. You can add little touches to make it more personalized for a particular recipient when required.

If you have trouble coming up with ideas for making gift baskets, you can go online and visit various sites that feature them. Use these as guides to making your own unique creations. Once your imagination has been sparked, you should have no trouble coming up with ideas.

Okay, now since you are going to be making this a profitable business venture, you need to switch hats for a moment and think like a small business person. You will need to find customers for your baskets, which means you need to set up a marketing system that works well.

If you already have a large network of family and friends, this is a great way to market yourself without having to spend much money. You can create some attractive brochures using your home computer, make up some sample baskets and take pictures of them, and include the photos in your brochure. Be sure to give your business a catchy name.

Hand out your brochures and let everyone know that you can make any type of basket for their special occasions. You may begin to get inquiries and orders right away.

If you don’t have the advantage of a large personal network, you can still get your business going relatively easy. Go ahead and name your business and make up the brochures. You should also set up a simple website to display samples of your baskets. Be sure to put the website address on the brochures.

Go out and visit small gift shops, beauty salons, doctors offices and other small businesses in your area. Ask if you can leave a few brochures with them. When people are waiting around at the counter, or for their appointment, they’ll see your brochures and take one home. This can get the ball rolling for you fast.

There are a few other things you need to know in order to successfully run a gift basket business from your home, and you can find out more by visiting a site that has a list of the best home business ideas. Starting a gift basket business is definitely one of the top ideas where you can use your creativity in a fun way to make money.

Advice for Expats: How to Use Social Media to Stay Conencted

Moving overseas demands just as much brainstorming as it does bubble wrapping, and before you touch down in your new destination its best to prepare accordingly.

Those lucky recipients of lucrative expat packages should certainly badger their bosses-to-be for information and advice about just where in the world they’re going. Request to be connected with returned expats who’ve lived to tell the tale, as well as those still successfully surviving overseas.

There’s nothing better than direct information from someone who you share common ground with. What’s more, some companies and corporates have even organized mentoring programs or support groups to aid assignees and their families with the transition.

A leg up and over

For the hard-headed expat – those that are going abroad job or not – and even those moving into a position but without the helping hand of a company or coach, jumping the hurdle of relocation is easier than ever before in light of social media. The dark ages have dropped away and now it’s possible to hit the ground in full stride even before the dust settles on the runway.

While information-dense sites, like Expat Arrivals.com, are fantastic for providing the framework and foundations you’ll need to master the art of relocation, social media is built on the idea of commonality, a cornerstone of approaching your new destination on a personal level.

Sussing out the benefit of social media

User generated content is bombarding the blogosphere, fuelling forums, and of course, driving the pistons of social media powerhouses like Twitter, Facebook, Youtube and Wikipedia.

Expats should spend time reading grassroots sites, like Wikis and travel blogs, to learn about the idiosyncrasies and the finer details of their destination to be.

Forums are also prime opportunities to digest information and to start to align your priorities with the realities of your home to be. Don’t be scared to post queries you may have, as silly as they may seem, chances are it’s not an original.

What’s more, traditional resources will rarely be able to provide the same kind of content. Very few formal Internet sites, and even less print publications, will be able to give advice about where to find Corn Flakes in Cape Town, what to wear to a baby shower in Beijing, and how much it costs for a pack of rolling tobacco in Riyadh.

What’s really socially acceptable?

Getting your social calendar sorted before that first Saturday night can often be the best thing an expat can do. Networking prior to putting your feet on new soil is especially important for certain destinations, namely in the Middle East or in non-English speaking nations.

Facebook and LinkedIn boast dedicated expat groups, and those moving abroad can find these virtual organisations through a quick search based on locality. These sites specifically cater to the idea that human connection is based on commonality, and so it’s often that you’ll even find groups within groups; devoted to specific work environments, interests, or to serve a popular purpose in your new country.

Be sure to join, and don’t feel hesitant about contacting the group administrator or other members in regard to concerns you may have. These individuals either created or joined the group under the umbrella of the same motivation, and more often than not, they’re happy to arrange a time to meet when you arrive. Not to mention, these are great spots to find larger expat events and become familiar with what’s hot and what’s not from the comfort of your lounge.

Twitter, an abbreviated blogging site of sort, can also be a cantina of information. Finding a friend or even just a respected resource to answer a simple question is quick and easy. You simple search for a general hash tag – like #expatriate or a more country specific keyword and see what comes up. Send the tweeter a DM (Direct Message) with as many questions as the 140-character limit will allow. (Note that DMs can only be sent to people you follow.)
You can also send a message out into the twitterverse at large; as long as you add those hashtags to your tweet, anyone searching those specific terms will find your request for information.

The social exception

Though social media seems to be the best thing since sliced bread, it’s still important to be wary how you wield your new power. It’s vital that you be mindful of controlling who and what you invite onto your virtual doorstep.

Take care to protect your personal information in the beginning, and for your own safety, if you make the decision to meet face to face with someone bring a third party along or do so in a strictly public setting.

Do your research prior to the event, read about their activities and engagements.
Remember also, that reading something online doesn’t make it reliable – it’s important to verify any information you receive.

Social media gets your foot in the door; beyond that, it’s up to you to get out there and live your new life, offline.

3 Steps to Better Cake Decorating Supplies

If you want to get more out of your cake decorating business or you just want to be better prepared for the next time someone asks you to make a cake for their birthday, wedding or baby shower, then here is a step by step guide to understanding what you need and how to prepare using your cake decorating supplies.

1. Getting Ideas

First thing you want to do is get as many ideas as you can. The easily way to do this is to start collecting cake decorating books and magazines. When you visit your local Walmart, thrift store, book store, or maybe you visit Craigslist or eBay, look for cake decorating books. The more ideas you have handy, the better prepared you are when someone asks you to create a cake for them, or a new client comes in looking for a specialty cake.

2. Make Your List

Making a list is very important before you go shopping. First check to see what tools and supplies you are going to need for your cake, then make a list, and check your current stock to see what you will actually need to buy. Then make a list of ingredients you are going to need, I suggest over buying on the ingredients, it is always good to have extra ingredients to be prepared for mistakes.

3. Practice Makes Perfect

Any time you buy a new tool or need to learn a new decorating technique it is so important to practice using them or practice the new technique. You need to make sure you are really proficient with any new tools you just added to your tool belt. If it’s a new icing or decorating technique then it is vital to practice, practice, practice. Icing techniques take a lot of time to learn and get them just right, so make sure you have it down, before cake making day.

Fun Facts For Butterfly Lovers Around the World

Butterflies and moths are part of our natural heritage and have been studied for over 300 years. There are over 20,000 species of these beautiful flying insects around the world. As we all know, the cycle begins with the egg, than the larva, pupa and adult. They can range from 1/8 to 12 inches in size. Females are usually bigger and live longer than males. During the mating process, the female gives a scent that the male butterfly can only smell. The scent is called Pheromones. The pheromones act as a perfume to attract the male butterfly. The female lays 100 eggs in her lifetime. The life span of a butterfly is dependent on the breed. They can live a few days or up to a year. Small butterflies generally have shorter life spans than bigger ones.

Butterflies can be used as symbols. It is the most popular used tatoo for a woman. This type of tatoo has several meanings. It can symbolize rebirth, freedom, and the change in one’s life etc. The Mandarin Chinese word for butterfly is “hu-tieh”. “Tieh” means 70 years. In the Chinese culture, it can symbolize a long life and can also symbolize undying bond between lovers. In Japan, the butterfly symbolizes love. In many other cultures, it can symbolize the soul. In South Germany, some believe that the dead are reborn as children who fly about as butterflies. In American culture, it is used to express the beauty and change in all of us. Butterflies are also considered classic Feng Shui cures. You will be guided through ease and grace in your life when used in Feng Shui. Butterflies are also used to decorate. Weddings, birthdays, baby showers have been beautifully decorated and adorned with butterflies. Yes, butterflies fly around our homes and will continue to fly in our hearts forever.

Tough economic times do not have to limit that next event that you plan. Thinking creatively and outside the box can let you stretch your event budget. Getting the right theme for the right event will help spark your creativity and guide the event planning as well.

Top Themes for Any Event

Have a safari party – you can make card board cut outs to place around the yard for kids to hunt or have adults come dressed as their favorite animal. You can choose to serve safari foods or have safari games. Have a tea party – this is great for girls of all ages or for grown women as well. It could be the perfect theme for a wedding shower or baby shower. Make it a traditional tea party or just play off the idea (make it southern tea party where you serve iced tea and have southern belle inspired games and favors). Have a surprise party – it can be a surprise for the honored guest or you can make the theme a surprise for every one that is attending. Have a box of items that they can use to make their themed costume or have them guess at what the menu is or will be. You can offer prizes to those that guess correctly. Have a garden party – make it a traditional garden party hosted in the garden or you can make the menu from the garden. You could even make the venue look like a garden and give away items that are garden related.

Some times the best event is planned around a great theme. Some themes will transcend age and location. Choosing one of these themes will help you direct your event planning and may even allow you to end up saving big on your budget – all while planning an event that is memorable to all that attend for all the right reasons.
